There is some headway being made on these blocks. Today I’ll work on appliqueing them to the background.

Then my Bernina went on the fritz. It was fine when I used it in the morning. I left it on when I had to go do something else, and Laura walked past it in the evening and said it was making a funny noise. It’s been a great machine. Had it since 1996.

Thank goodness there’s a backup. I inherited my mom’s machine. My mom. Boy, do I miss her. She died three years ago this past January.

So off to the sewing machine hospital I go. As soon as I get my car back that is. The son is borrowing it while his sits in our garage waiting for one little bolt.

It’s Ash Wednesday.

Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.
