First Quilt, 1996

Project: Bed
Size: Approx. 80 X 82
Reference/Pattern: Singer Quilt Projects by Machine/string-pieced
Constructed by: Barbara Wolff, Waukee, IA
Quilted by: Barbara Wolff (center tied, border machine-quilted)
Completed: March, 1996
Techniques Used: muslin foundation for piecing, center tied with yarn
Notes: For a short time my son was going to move to a queen-sized bed until Mike could make a toddler-sized one. His sister was already in the crib. Anyway, this quilt hooked me into making more.

quilt-archives-003Type of Project: Wallhanging
Size: Approx. 16 X 23
Reference/Pattern: Quilting from the Heartland 300 Series/tumbler, traditional
Designed by: Sharlene Jorgenson
Constructed by: Barbara Wolff, Waukee, IA
Quilted by: Barbara Wolff
Completed: February, 1997
Techniques Used: Machine piecing and quilting. I think I used a template for the tumblers. My notes don’t say and I’m pretty sure I hadn’t tried paper-foundation piecing at this time.
Notes: The fabrics used were leftovers from the above bed quilt.

These photos really have a vintage look. This was before digital cameras and I wasn’t that great of a photographer.
